BBMRI.nl Catalogue

The BBMRI.nl Catalogue provides an overview of a large set of sample collections, data collections, studies, and biobanks in the Netherlands. All data and samples are available to request for further research.

    About

The BBMRI.nl Catalogue is a searchable database containing health data, samples, and imaging collections. For each biobank, cohort, registry or data bank contact details of the coordinator and the conditions for requesting and using the data and materials are available.

    BBMRI Catalogue

    This catalogue helps researchers to:

    • Get an overview of Dutch biobanks and data banks
    • Find collections based on certain characteristics, such as the type of biomaterial of the available samples, the involvement of one or more institutes or researchers, the focus on a specific disorder, etc.
    • Get an overview of how many collections share the same characteristics.
    • Identify data and samples for inclusion in their research, based on basic characteristics such as sex, age and type of disease.

Increase the visibility of your collection.

Collections in the BBMRI.nl Catalogue are easy to find by researchers from across Europe, as the content of Catalogue is also made available through the BBMRI-ERIC Directory, a European catalogue of biobanks.

Collection coordinators can apply for inclusion of their collection in the Catalogue. This can be done in two ways. The first is to send a request for access to the BBMRI.nl Catalogue to MOLGENIS support. Once access is granted, all relevant information for the collections and biobanks can be entered directly through the on-line forms on catalogue.bbmri.nl. The second way is to fill out the BBMRI.nl Catalogue form with all relevant information and to send this to MOLGENIS support.

It’s the catalogue-of-catalogues for biological and clinical samples and data. It makes finding samples and data much easier, and if you find it’s already there you don’t have to start your own collection of samples or your data cohort.
